START PLAYING AT THE DOUBLE

In World War Zoo, players select a faction and build their army with creatures of various types, each with their own individual strengths and special abilities. Set up the Battlefield, draw three Mission cards, and you’re ready to begin. Gameplay is fast and frantic, with “skirmish” sized engagements taking place in close quarters. World War Zoo is easy to learn and doesn’t require complex table setups or extensive list building. It’s simply designed to get you playing as quickly as possible.

The standard game mode is BATTLE, which gives you access to all the units in your faction, including powerful vehicles, and plays out on a 3x3’ table over 5 Rounds. Armies consist of roughly 10 to 15 units, and games play in under 2 hours.

For a faster but equally tactical experience, FIREFIGHT is played with smaller forces (without vehicles) on a 2x2’ playing area over 4 Rounds. Armies at this scale are usually 6 to 9 units and can be played in as little as 1 hour.

Beta Testing Rules Available Now…

World War Zoo is currently in development and play testing, with the beta ruleset available HERE.

We are actively designing artwork and miniatures for the game in preparation for crowd funding and continuing to refine the units and rules. Want to try the game out right now? Print & Play components are available for those who join the mailing list and Discord, along with access to our Tabletop Simulator mod, so you can get right into the action.

Player feedback is very important to the continued development of World War Zoo, and we value your support and opinions.

Don’t fight a battle if you gain nothing by winning.

HOBBY

Paint the Town

The hobby aspect of miniature gaming is a big draw, with endless options for customizing and personalizing your miniatures… but building and painting an army can also be a daunting task.

World War Zoo miniatures have detail in all the right places without being over-complicated, so painting is a breeze, and beginners can keep things simple, while experienced hobbyists can still embellish and kit bash to their heart’s content.

You can also play World War Zoo using all of your existing 28mm or 32mm terrain and accessories, but 2D line-of-sight rules accommodate the usage of simple terrain templates as well.

Factions

WILDFRONT COALITION

The Wildfront is a loosely aligned group of animals from neighboring woodland principalities which fight for a unified cause. Their shared technology and industrial cooperation allows them to field a wide variety of Weapons and equipment, and they tend to bring specialized soldiers with clear roles to the battlefield. They favor a balanced force of varied Units working with a combined-arms strategy and an exceptional volume of fire to take down their enemies.

IRONCLAW LEGION

Their strict social hierarchy, history steeped in martial lore, and a philosophy of “Survival of the Fittest” makes the Ironclaws a force to be reckoned with. They bring powerful machinery to the battlefield and augment it with fast, dedicated shock troops which maneuver quickly to overrun the opposition. Although they lack the strength of numbers, the focus on maneuverable elite Units and long range Weaponry allows them to Target their aggression anywhere on the battlefield.

MOTHERLAND PACK

The frozen tundra of the Motherland motivates hardiness and determination in the numerous animals which call it home, and there is a strong sense of the good of the collective over that of the individual. While they lack advanced technologies, the enormous population of conscripts allows them to field innumerable troops, which focuses their strategy on overwhelming the Enemy with sheer numbers of vehicles and soldiers. The low Skill of their frontline fighters, however, requires strong leadership to keep them disciplined.

SUNSTRIKE ARMADA

The Sunstrike are focused on relentlessly growing their empire, to the point where there is no sacrifice they will not make to ensure victory. What their troops lack in cutting edge equipment, they make up for with sheer courage, rushing fearlessly towards the Enemy to engage them in hand-to-hand fighting. In support of this strategy, they favor transporting soldiers quickly on light vehicles to get them into close combat as quickly as possible, with even their armor favoring up-close fighting.
